It’s time for more grassroots activism: Attend your local Town Hall meetings over the next two weeks and remind your elected officials what last August was all about!
Congress will be recessed for the next two weeks, which means that there will be many Town Hall meetings scheduled to take place in your area!
Eagle Forum sends out Town Hall meeting alerts to our email subscribers every single day, so we strongly encourage you to attend these important face-to-face meetings with your elected officials.
To ensure that you always know when your representative and Senators are holding a town hall meeting, office hours, or any other public event, please make sure that you are signed up to receive our free Town Hall alerts. Our Town Hall alerts are state and district-specific, so it is important that we have your zip code in order to direct you to the correct event location.
As you know, the Senate passed Harry Reid's (D-NV) secretive, corrupt, and scandal-ridden health care bill on Christmas Eve. "Red state" senators, like Ben Nelson (D-NE), are feeling the heat both at home and in the polls after casting their votes in favor of the bill, so Obama and his liberal leaders are scheming to get health care legislation signed as quickly as possible before it gets too far into an election year. Democrat leaders are also saying that they plan to skip the traditional conference committee altogether in order to speed up the process and get the bill to President Obama's desk faster.
What does this mean? More secret, closed-door negotiations. Even C-SPAN is challenging Obama and his Democrat leadership to stick to their campaign promises to televise health care talks in their entirety!
Contrary to what the talking heads may be predicting on the nightly news programs, the health care fight is NOT over!
We need YOU to take up this issue with your elected officials at Town Hall meetings while they are back in their home states and districts!
So, keep your eyes peeled for our Town Hall meeting alerts over the next two weeks. Let's recreate and remind them of last August in 2010!
