Washington Eagle Forum On Watch in Olympia

This Session in Olympia

On Monday January 8 the Washington State Legislature began their 60-day legislative session. Hundreds of bills will be considered. Lawmakers will also approve a supplemental budget proposal from Governor Jay Inslee.

During this session Democrats control both chambers by super-majority margins: 58-40 in the House, and 29-20 in the Senate. This also means Democrats control all committees and hearings.

Let's Go Washington Initiatives

The Lynwood Times 

Secretary of State Steve Hobbs sent official notification to the Washington state Legislature on January 8 that all six Let’s Go Washington initiatives to the legislature have been granted provisional certification while signatures are being verified. Over 2.6 million signatures for all 6 initiatives were turned in.

The six initiatives are:

· Initiative to the Legislature no. 2081 parental rights related to education;
