As you pray on this day, and from this day forward, use this commemorative prayer guide to lead your intercession for our beloved United States of America.
A Prayer to Recount God’s Hand upon our Nation
Lord, we recount the wondrous works You have done in the founding and preservation of our nation. We thank You for the miracles that marked America’s beginnings — for the faith of our founders, for the prayers that shaped this land, and for Your divine hand of protection and deliverance throughout our history. Help us never to forget Your faithfulness or take lightly the blessings You have poured out upon this nation. We recount the ways that personal guidance and direction from you, the Almighty, guided the founders and those risking their lives to strike out in independence from England. Your Spirit that gave courage to settlers as they created new homesteads and villages in the vast new lands. Your hand, oh Lord, in times of plenty in our nation, and in times of need across our land. You have been with us in times of war and in times of peace. The identity of America as one nation under God is how we started--and who we still want to be today. Lord, stir this generation to remember, proclaim, and honor Your mighty deeds and miracles in our nation once again.
“Remember the wondrous works that He has done, His miracles, and the judgments He uttered.” (Psalm 105:5)
A Prayer to Reclaim God’s plans and purposes for our Nation
Lord, we cry out for America to reclaim Your ancient paths in our nation — the good and godly way founded truth, righteousness, justice, and reverence for You. upon Forgive us for wandering from Your purposes as a nation and embracing ways that oppose Your heart and design. Forgive us for wasting the miracles and mercies you have bestowed upon us in our past 250 years. We reclaim these original moves of Your hand and ask that You would once again activate the power that came with these acts--for Your glory alone. Awaken a hunger once again for holiness, wisdom, courage, and obedience to Your Word. Restore Your plans and purposes for America, and lead us back to the foundations that bring life, freedom, and peace.

A Prayer to Rededicate ourselves and our nation to God
Lord, today we rededicate ourselves and our nation to You. We humble ourselves before You and acknowledge that our hope, freedom, and future are found not in man, government, or earthly strength, but in Your sovereign hand alone. May America once again be a nation that honors You, seeks Your wisdom, and walks in Your ways. Raise up a generation that will courageously live for Your purposes and faithfully pass on a spiritual legacy to those who come after them. We declare that this nation belongs to the Lord, and we surrender ourselves anew to Your plans and Your glory.
